Building Inspection

The primary purpose of the City of Cuyuna building code is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life and limb, health, property and public welfare. This is accomplished by carefully regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of all structures and equipment specifically covered by the City of Cuyuna’s municipal code.

Enforced by the inspection process, the building code provides:

  • Strengthened property values through sound construction
  • Minimum design standards for the local building industry
  • A level playing field in the bidding and construction process
  • Assurance that required life-safety features are provided for and operational

What one person does on their property has the potential to affect the community as a whole. By adopting the State Building Code, the City of Cuyuna assures that these standards benefit the community as a whole.

Applications for building permits may be found in the Documents > Applications section of this site.
