The City of Cuyuna’s permanent population stands at nearly 300 but grows significantly on a seasonal basis. Cuyuna hosts several flourishing businesses and we all benefit from numerous amenities, including world-class medical services and the K-12 educational services that are located in nearby Crosby-Ironton. Only 10 miles to the southwest, the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport affords ready access and easy connections throughout the region.

Strategically placed among the clear lakes and lush woodlands of central Minnesota, Cuyuna is among Minnesota's finest vacation destinations but it is also a wonderful place to call home or start a business. An area rich in history, Cuyuna was once a bustling center for iron ore mining. With the miners long gone, former excavation areas now sparkle with crystal clear water and deep-water trout. We now proudly host the beautiful 5,000 acre Cuyuna Country State Recreational Area and the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail system - each providing a wealth of activities from hiking to mountain biking.

Dozens of natural lakes are also in the area, many with easy access and well stocked with walleye and other game fish. The Mississippi River, the Great River Road and renowned Highway 6 Vacationland run directly through our area. A large network of snowmobile trails are found just outside of town. With extended access to the Paul Bunyan Trail and other major routes, thousands of miles of trails lay at Cuyuna’s feet.

Please visit the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce for additional information regarding the many activities and business opportunities that await you in the Cuyuna area.
